May 1, 2024 - Bought directly at L’Eremo San Giorgio above Bardolino, but the wine was made by the monks in Tuscany. It doesn’t actually say it’s based on Sangiovese, I just guessed the variety out of ignorance and because it is typical for the region. Wonderful transparent ruby with black shadows. Unripe strawberry, toast, nicotine, a touch of vanilla and some pine tree on the nose. Seems like even this their basic wine saw some wood. Unripe strawberry, nicotine and decent acidity on the palate, making me assume this isn‘t even ready yet. Very dry and a quality level beyond its price point at 7.50 € ! 13%. Would gladly buy again, only more.

P.S.: Left about 0,2 l sitting in the normally corked bottle for 8 days and it still held up ok. Remarkable at that price.
