Community Tasting Notes 1

December 13, 2010 - Monday Night "Non-Baller" Grab Bag (Weygandt Wines - Washington, D.C.): golden colored. the nose smells like roasted nuts, hazelnut and mustard seed. on the palate this hits you with lentil, horseradish and mustard. there is some golden apple fruit and apricot, but it's not the lead singer. the sensation on the palate is really oily. a bit hot? maybe. this chardonnay is such a unique experience. a good wine that really demands attention, but not one most people would want to drink lots of. likeability score: 80 pts. craziness: 91. so, i'll give it an 86, although this is one of those instances where scoring is practically irrelevant.
