October 16, 2013 - In the last year we have drunk up 10 bottles of this wine. Some have been simple, disappointing, not very good. The last two bottles drunk in October 2013 were excellent. They took 30 minutes or so to open with lots of varietal flavor, fruity with appropriate pepper-spice and tannins. Either the wine was fallow after I moved it from one cellar to another and took months to clear or there is substantial bottle variability. Both bottles of this tasting were among the best I have had from this vintage year. Oregon's 2006 were often jammy and cloying, not so for this wine. It is clean and delicious.

June 23, 2013 - Sorry to say that this wine appears over the hill. Pretty simple and flat. If you have 2006 Oregon Pinots, drink up. They don't seem to age well.

July 25, 2012 - On the nose you get some hints oak, and the resulting vanilla, along with a very fragrant raspberry. It is clear that this is not an old world style wine. The flavors of this wine immediately explode in dark raspberries and dark chocolate. However, this wine is not a completely over-the-top fruit bomb. There is a very nice balsamic and tart cranberry characteristic in the mid-palate that balances the front-end fruit nicely. This wine is opulent and big, but not terribly deep. It is tasty, which is not a bad thing, but it isn't going to change anyone's world.
