April 22, 2010 - A nose of cherry jam on toast with a bit of cedar chip. The palate shows light cherry fruit with minerals but a fuller body than expected which makes the fruit hardly perceptible up until the finish. The finish is clean and fresh. As people have written on this wine before, good sipper with a weeknight pasta dinner.

February 20, 2010 - Label: The historic vineyards and cellars of Marchesi di Barolo, one of the great names in Piedmontese winemaking, are the source of this appealing Barbera. In the local dialect, Maraia means "little rascal" a fitting name for this youthful, approachable red, bursting with personality and charm. A lively aroma gives way to an elegant palate brimming with ripe fruit. www.marchesibarolo.com

Review: Purplish black color. I get aromas of Apple cider, Prune, Tea, Top Soil, Fake Fruit and lot's of heat on the nose. 13.5% Alcohol. Flavors of yeast and a little red fruit. There is no mid-palate. Lot's of acidity, low tannins. Nothing but young tree bark on the finish. This Wine Sucks!

January 30, 2010 - I do not have a good standard of what Babera wines should taste like. However, this wine tasted very young and unbalanced. There was too much fruit and not enough oak, tanin or acid. It was OK but nothing to praise.

December 6, 2009 - As stated before, a good pasta wine. Nice light bodied, easy-to-drink dinner wine. Reminds me of Barberas I had in Italy a couple of years ago, which probably would have been from 2006. Cherry aroma is there and very enjoyable. It is good for what it is.
