October 18, 2020 - It is 15 years old and still a very nice wine.
This is the last of a case from a wonderful Napa vintage. And, I cannot thank enough the wonderful people at the Napa Valley Winery Exchange who recommended this wine, as well as many others over the years.

February 28, 2020 - This was a wonderful mature CA Cabernet (Sauvignon and Franc).
We PNP and even though it was good "right out of the gate", it got better throughout the evening - right up until the very end of the bottle. It had rich, dark color (with a hint of clarity at the rim), luscious dark fruit (blackberry and blueberry I believe) that coated the mouth, was balanced, and had a long finish. It was but another example of what good CA wines give you if you are patient.
Given my experiences over the last several years, I think the wine had had closed down. Now, it is alive and kicking.
It was not the big, bold, in-your-face wine that it had been in its younger days. Now, it is showing a soft, feminine side that is wonderful but the power is still there - just muted. Should we say that it is "Spottswoodeian"?
It would have been WOTN except for being nosed out by a beautiful 2000 Chateau La Lagune.

April 8, 2017 - No formal notes, but not as enjoyable as past bottles. Perhaps just this particular bottle.
