March 1, 2018 - Sweet plum and bold. This is what good aged Napa should taste like. Nice.

November 27, 2016 - Popped and poured for a late-night treat after dinner. Acquired directly from the winery years ago. Still a brilliant dark ruby with thinning edges, though no bricking. A nose of blackberry, graphite/iodine, cedar, cassis and toasty oak. Unfortunately, little fruit remains on the palate, which features bitter oak, leather, and cassis. Drink up if you have them!

January 20, 2010 - An awkward stage; a less-than great year (for the winery); or perhaps a bottling, prior to their apparent rise to greatness. TOTALLY muted aromatics out of the gate; progressing into a marked over-ripeness. Initially, delineated on the palate, with very little 'fullness'. Then, although it rounded out markedly with time, it did so, at the expense of virtually no intrigue. I'm glad that this wasn't my first experience with Lancaster, as I might have never returned; let alone become their "Number One Fan"!

August 1, 2005 - bold, fruit, pepper, tanin
