November 17, 2023 - We opened a magnum. Certainly past its prime at this point, but holding up well enough, and is still pleasant and interesting to drink. Decent backbone. Dense and fruity, with the dusty texture and complexity you’d expect from a good Brunello. Probably a little thin in the middle, but not distractingly so. There were some funky notes on the finish that seemed to dissipate within an hour or so.

November 3, 2018 - Juicy. Great cocoa/velvety finish. Refined. Drank from magnum.

    December 1, 2017 - Pretty much done.

April 26, 2016 - This wine took an hour to open and once it did, its initially searing tannins and heavy oak treatment dissolved into the dark blue and red fruits with some vanilla, hard leather, and dried herbs. A lovely wine that had no sediment and still plenty of time ahead of it.

May 29, 2011 - Lilac and leather. Last wine in an evening with some lovely bottles. Decanted about an hour. Still great acid. Could last another decade. Easily WOTN. Decomposing oak leaves? Something nice in the finish. Rich tannins that still grip me minutes later.
