    March 20, 2024 - Eye: Ruddy orange-brown.

Nose: Honey, toasted nuts. Lightly vinous. Raisins, dates, prunes, Christmas spice, demerara rum.

Palate: Moderately sweet. Orange-juice acidity. Honey, nuts. There is a touch of something lightly cooking; like mint or eucalyptus.

Finish: Medium. Lightly sweet. Gently tart, a touch nutty.

Overall: This was a pretty cool Intro to Madeira. I’m certainly interested in trying more.

December 24, 2021 - A recently purchased bottle, opened primarily for cooking.
    A ruby tinged teak colour.
Nutty, dried figs and demerara sugar on the nose.
Immediate impression is that it's not as sweet as I was expecting, and - alongside all the coffee, dried figs, cocoa notes - there's a very pleasant orange tanginess.
Although it's very much an entry level Madeira, there's some depth and complexity.
For a tenner (in the UK) this is a real bargain, and I may well buy some more for drinking, as it hits that sweet (no pun intended) spot between the more aggressive sherriness of even the best palo cortados and the richness of port.

December 24, 2020 - En die fles ligt hier al 20 jaar. Wat smaakt deze Madeira goed. Midden getaand. Walnoten rozijnen. Vrij zoet.

September 11, 2019 - Honeymoon of our friends Loek en Saskia (Côte d'Azur): This wine has for sure a long history in the bottle. It gives a combination of a very ripe, very concentrated, less sweet than young, taste with acceptable lovage. The colour with some yellow/green at the rim also suggests a certain age. The aftertaste is quite long. Classic, no top notch, but fascinating however.
