Community Tasting Notes 5

May 24, 2023 - Beautiful color & nose, cherries, loam, perfect balance on the palate, lovely burg, tasted like a young burg, kept half for day 2 - has the look of aged Burg with orange tinge, nose has secondary aromas, tannins all mellow, fully mature

July 8, 2011 - Roberson Summer Walkabout Tasting 2011 (London): Very Brett-y nose. But palate still fresh. Great length.

May 21, 2009 - Disappointing. Initially when opening, nose was ok, with some hints of fruit, leather, earth. On the palate the wine is somewhat light, thin, and although initially I could taste some fruit, the acidity on the finish was out of balance. With air, the wine continued to deteriorate, making it unpleasant.

July 12, 2006 - Medium ruby and translucent. Lots of sweet and sour cherry on the nose and palate which is layered with herbs, white pepper and minerals. It could use some more flesh and depth and leans toward austere but it has good structure and a solid finish.

March 23, 2005 - Very nice and expressive bouquet of red fruit (cranberry and sour cherry) as well as garrigue, sage, savory herbs, and a touch of caramel. Explosive on the palate with solid acidity, a coating mouthfeel, and impressions of cranberry and interesting herbs. Super long finish, but still a pretty tannic beast. After 1.5 hours, this wine is beginning to lose some of its intensity. I would suggest to drink this within the next 2 years.
