  January 6, 2019 - Purple to almost inky, slow legs. Dark, dark fruit aromas predominate: black currant, blueberry, blackberry. Hints of plum, light toast and cedar. On the palate, dark fruit remains significant with hints of eucalyptus and mint emerging. Medium/full body, lovely long finish, low to medium acidity. Texture is very smooth. Impression: balanced, complex, at prime. A definite splurge; glad we waited. An example of how well Petite Syrah can age. Unfortunately, QPR substantially below average @ $43 for the bottle. Purchased at winery. Rating reflects low QPR. Drink now or in 2020.

  December 14, 2014 - 5 years since I lasted tasted and it's settle down quite a bit. Make no mistake, this is still an aggressive petite but it doesn't knock your teeth out now. Fun wine but not exactly "balanced" from a purist perspective. Very dark color, opaque in the glass.
