Community Tasting Notes 2

Opened at the beginning of the meal with just a taste poured from the bottle, served about 45mins later. Would be hard pressed to tell that this has any age on it at all. No hints of tertiary or even secondary aromas on the nose or on the palate.
Dark, fresh fruits with a bit of a deeper, irony type flavour. Nice tannic structure that's well integrated into the wine. This was an obvious wine of quality, but it was very subtle and subdued tonight. The whole package was quite integrated without anything out of balance, the word spherical comes to mind (yes, I know that sounds absurd). I'm getting the impression that this can go for decades.

May 9, 2011 - Smell very gamey, black cherry, some apple, strawberry. Taste more game, strawberry, then settled into a nice balance of apple, leather, cherry with the smell more undergrowth. Spicy, medium to long length. Bit of mushroom and cherry on finish. Very powerful but really opened up.
