  April 30, 2020 - The very last vintage ever from this vineyard, produced in the year when it’s proprietor died, before all it’s vines were pulled up for good. Vinho Licoroso, 17% ABV.
  COLOUR: Deep cognac colour.
  NOSE: Takes a little while to fully unfold. Then almost fills the room with aromas; sultanas, dried figs, smoked tea, marzipan and sweet almonds, conserved cloudberries, cloudberry liqueur. Later dried orange rind, lemon rind, freshly polished old mahogany cabinet (92p)
  TASTE: The arrival is medium sweet, on sultanas and Corinth raisins. On the mid palate dried figs, aged raisin juice, Lapsang Souchon tea. Medium to rich body. Superb balance (!) between sweet and acidic/fresh taste elements. Obviously mature and filled with aged/dried fruit tastes, but there’s also a vitality and freshness to this taste which makes me think it still has years to go (drink until 2025?). (90-92 points)
  OVERALL: What a lovely semi sweet, aged dessert wine, complete with a touching story of origin. Not a wine for quick consumption but perfect for slow enjoyment and meditation. 91 points + 1 point for sentimentality and the unique story behind this wine. TOTAL SCORE 92 points.

  December 22, 2010 - Farge: Tefarget, mot rødbrun.
  Duft: Rosiner, roser, litt røyk a la Lapsang Souchong.
  Smak: Fyldig. Fascinerende sødme; svinger fra søt (til å begynne med) til nesten "bare" halvtørr etter at syrene melder sin ankomst ett til to sekunder ute i smakskurven. Begynnende kompleksitet i smak, innslag av fiken, nyper og rosin. Vinen har blitt "mindre søt" og mer kompleks siden forrige smaking for 2 år siden. Men 19 år gammel virker den likevel bare å være tidlig i sin smaksutvikling og vil nok bli mer kompleks og interessant over de neste 5 til 10 årene. Passet svært godt til varm chevre med dadler.

  June 19, 2009 - BYO tasting (My place): Clear, light red color. Synthetic nose with rubber and alcohol notes. The taste has some licorice and raisin, but the alcohol knocks this wine of it feet.
