February 10, 2015 - Medium, clear ruby with surprising colour retention and depth. Some obvious bricking but nothing too severe at all. Hints of purple suggesting higher percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Carmenere due to the warm vintage.
Nose was pronounced with a lot of candied fruit. Cassis, cotton candy, cherry cola.
The palate had much lower acid than the other wines in the flight. Additionally the tannins were a touch green. Both of these can be attributed to a hot vintage. Velvety mouth-feel, surprisingly sprightly for it's age. Really hugs the back of your palate (also implying Cab).
Finish is long and savoury. A touch barnyard rounds it off. Really fantastic wine.
