April 28, 2024 - Ether and plum on the nose. On the palate, black cherry, currant, and notes of rust and tar on the medium finish, with moderate to strong tannins and good acidity. This is in the middle of its drinking window, with many years to go. It was a good value at about $40.

August 7, 2021 - Tar and plum on the nose. On the palate, cherry, rusty iron, and notes of currant, tar, and earth on the medium finish, with moderate tannins and good acidity. The Cellartracker drinking window is too short by several years. This was a good value at about $40.

October 20, 2020 - Opened 4 hours before first pour, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium intensity, blood orange, tar, iron, and sour cherry. Palate: Medium bodied, nice structure and mouth-feel, soft (for a Barolo) but still youthful tannins, sour cherry and rust dominate the attack, good mid-palate persistence with black olive notes joining in the back-end. Finish: Medium length, 30-45 seconds, dominated by sour cherry, blood orange, and black olives. I agree with Wineshlub, plenty of life left here - 5-10 years easily.

September 9, 2020 - Opened 3 hours in advance. Fragrant aromas of red fruit and tobacco. Dusty, rich flavors of earth, tobacco, cherry. Woody and mild anise notes in the finish. Complex, mature, firm backbone, great staying power.

Drinking very well now, but should have plenty of time left.
