May 13, 2010 - Nicely structured Syrah with plenty of black pepper, smooth tannins, tones of earthy clay, licorice and sandal wood (!). The wine is still a bit tight but opened up after a couple of hours in the decanter. This wine actually used to impress me a bit more and give a sense of Mr Tolmach's attitude "I don't care the slightest about the wine critics". This being a good effort and a truly nice wine, in terms of complexity it is less of what I expected given previous experiences.

May 9, 2010 - Lots of cherry hit you at first, but not with much behind it. Seemed stronger a couple years ago, but as it settles down there is not as much depth as I originally thought. Totally dies overnight, so if you have it drink up.
