January 22, 2023 - VERY grassy for quite a while. Was not decanted.
Otherwise spot on with taste and flavors

January 10, 2023 - Drank w Megdal and Lauren; long finish; smooth; not overpowering but rather an elegant bottle of understated elegance; ripe berries; integrated tannins.

December 29, 2022 - Talking Bordeaux (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN): Very dark red/purple color. Decanted tableside for 2 hours. Drank a glass over 90 minutes plus. Oh my, this is dark and deep, layers of gorgeous black fruit, cassis, blackberry, plum, loads of pencil, vibrant and energetic, caressing velvety texture, and seriously long. Damn, this is so good, youthful, but so good. This is going to be great, 95(++)pts.

November 12, 2022 - Saturday bottle with Picanha. Decanted an hour. Stemmy almost green nose, more 2004 Green Meanie Burgundy than 2000 Bordeaux. Juicy black fruit palate with an amazing tension on a 15-20 second finish. This bottle did close up at the 2 hour mark and seemed a little more aged than other 2000 Medocs that are still primary. 94/100 just missing that extra dimension plus I did notice some of the green vegetal notes some other tasters have mentioned which detracted from the score, unfortunately.

(Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande) From magnum - very dark, black tinged red violet color; appealing, herbs, thyme, tobacco nose; maturing, tart black fruit, herbs, salty dried plum, tobacco palate; medium-plus finish (50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot)

(Pichon-Lalande) The Green Monster is not at Fenway Park, it is in retail stores and Bordeaux collector's cellars all over the world in the form of this wine. Will it go away? Only time will tell. But under the green is dazzling complexity and one of the great PL's of all time. The nose had of course green cabernet, but also minerality, perfume, cigar box, lead pencil, cocoa, chamomile tea (greenness?). Tannic but a solid core of dark fruits underneath. Long, ripe and epic on the finish. I mean really long. Fantastic and can only get better. We hope. The 2000 Pichon-Lalande odyseey continues.

(Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande) Berry and coffee nose; tasty, tight, but well structured coffee, berry, plum palate; medium-plus finish
