September 30, 2019 - pop and pour, deep purple, blue fruit, nose of a richness, taste less interesting than the nose. Will check it out in a few hours

September 22, 2019 - In my cellar since purchase circa 2004. Decanted at 1pm and tasted from 6-8pm. Dark garnet/crimson/purple but not looking overdone and showing no sign of advancing age. Blackberry jam, pepper and licorice are dominant on the nose and the palate. Very rich on the palate with pretty bright acidity and still some modest puckering, drying tannins. This big powerful wine I’d starting to yield to some secondary flavors but only grudgingly so. Probably needs a lot more time in the cellar. Only have one bottle left and I think it will be one to have on its 25th birthday!

August 2, 2019 - Similar to prior note; took to Cap Grille to drink with Charlie for lunch on day off

April 1, 2019 - Two hour slow ox, drank over four hours. To me this lacked firmness. It had lots of alcohol and round, dark fruit with oak present. I see some people love this but it doesn't spark joy for me.

October 3, 2018 - Intense and dense layers of raspberry, boysenberry and blueberry fruit, with black pepper and spices. Somehow combines rich viscosity with brightness of fruit, all held in terrific balance by the acid and tannic structure. I'm a little surprised the fruit tasted so vivid and fresh after all this time. Very tasty and fun.
