April 1, 2023 - Had a nice bottle. Needs some time to open up. Perfect when that is done. Second night became an all around beautiful bottle. First night good but second night spectacular. Bottle shinning phenomenally.
*Opened another bottle, even better then the first. 2nd night beautiful cherry on the palate. Very nice bottle.

August 21, 2022 - Some Wine Tasted Watching the Chicago Air & Water Show (Chicago, IL): Walk around tasting. Some people enjoyed this, but I thought it slightly stewed and muddy, wondering if heat damaged.

April 9, 2020 - Ripe red berry fruits with a tart slightly sour edge. Good flavors, but come across a bit disjointed and lacks harmony or complexity. Seems younger then the vintage and nice smooth texture. Missing Vosne spice for me. Good, but a bit weird with the sour edge dominating.

May 28, 2016 - Rather light weight. Certainly didn't improve with air. Recommend serving immediately upon opening. Drink now.

(Domaine Daniel Rion et Fils Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts) (decanted for about 30 minutes) - rich, mature, mushroom, iron and tart red fruit nose; tasty, tart, deep minerally but sappy red fruit, rose hips; medium-plus finish
