November 6, 2011 - Very nice, good with strong goat's cheese and firm salad. Finished it a day later. Even better than the day before.

March 25, 2010 - A nice to drink wine, but I expected more out of it. I suppose it just tasted a little "thin", hard to explain further.

February 16, 2009 - Dark ruby color. Nose has a strong influence of dark chocolate with hints of green pepper and cherries. Good viscosity. Tannins are very soft. Flavors of sour cherries, black pepperand a little green vegitation. A little heat as well. Very dark, more like a Syrah style and not a Shiraz style. Had with some dark chocolate and it didn't hold up, the chocolate walked all over this Shiraz. Frankly this just doesn't do much. It's there and that's about it. Lindeman's is more of a Shiraz style but it runs around this like Gretzky playing against a youth hockey team. It's fairly easy to drink but nothing more.

June 17, 2008 - For the most part purple fruit on the nose, plum and blackberry mostly. Strong fruit on the palate, with some mild chocolate and tobacco. Finish a bit sour. Medium to light on the tannins. Ok fot the price, but label is the best part.

(Cumulus Shiraz Climbing High Elevation Estate) Much is made of elevation with many of these wines, which often list it on the back of the bottle (900 feet above sea level in this case). Unexpectedly dark, dense color, given the cool-climate Syrah notes of smoked game, white pepper, and both red and black fruits. A hearty wine on the palate, with a bit of heat, but still in an Old World style. High in acid and tannins, it may need a year or two (but not more) and hearty dishes. 13.5% alcohol. Chilling Out Down Under
