September 14, 2019 - Nice. Reminds me of a good Napa CS, fully resolved. Honey. Not old or dusty. Just very soft, chewy, marmelade and chocolate.

September 14, 2018 - Dark fruit (cherry, slight blueberry), tobacco, spice, nice vanilla. Good acidity. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable. Better with a couple hours of air.

July 5, 2016 - Gorgeous wine that I bought for $24. Very smooth on the palate, great nose (dark and red cherries, a touch of development). Would buy more if I came across it.

May 7, 2016 - Still alive, showing modern fruit & new world oak tones with a secondary layer of soft Rioja tones underneath.

May 7, 2016 - Wines and Grill (Chicago, IL): One of the much more polished and modern examples of Rioja. This has just a bit too much blueberry-vanilla to it for me to fully enjoy it. It's missing a lot of those dust, earth, and sweat notes that I'm looking for as well. Instead, it is somewhat nondescript and fits the generic "international" style. While it's not unenjoyable, it's certainly not the style of wine I find myself reaching for most of the time.
