Community Tasting Notes 1

January 14, 2005 - A wine a friend gave for free, and is willing to sell me some if I like it. I was skeptical.. a lesser white Graves that is over 14 years old, but this is still drinking well. This estate is vinified and bottled by de Fieuzal, whose white Graves is excellent and very long lived.

Medium gold color... "old" but still very fruity and interesting nose, with super ripe peaches in abundance, backed by wheat, cut hay and hazelnut aromas. On the palate, has an almost oily texture with just enough acidity to keep it balanced and bright. Peaches again, but with nectarines and lemon candy on the mid-palate. Medium bodied, still fruity, just enough balance to make it interesting. The age mostly shows on the finish, which is a little compressed and alcholic tasting, keeping this wine into the mid-80's score-wise.
