November 24, 2016 - First produced in 1967, this Wolf Blass Grey Label Cab Sauv now has great pedigree after all those years. The 2006 was an ideal vintage to showcase the deep, rich alluvial soils and maritime climate influences of Langhorne Creek. And after 10 years there's a finely balanced wine to savour.
There's an inviting nose of blackberry, dark cherry, mushroom, mint and earth. The eucalyptus notes have gone. But the palate is highly concentrated, mouth coating, with fine chocolate-like round, milky smooth tannins. There's a nice mid-palate lift and drive of blackberry, dark cherries, dark chocolate, mint, sage, earth and spice. And a sweet, delicate lingering finish. It's very easy drinking.
Right in its sweet spot. With at least another 5 years. A Wozza 94.5/100 (4.1/5.0) from me. -

October 5, 2014 - - Brick color - Lush red fruits and soft spice with smooth oak integration. Starting to wind down and peak window passed, but a well balanced and medium bodied Cabernet that has held well.

November 24, 2012 - Red fruit and vanilla on the nose carries through on the palette. Medium acidity and tannins. Smooth. Finish too short. Perhaps another year or two?

February 28, 2010 - my second bottle, still quite young as a CS, aroma is closed and acidity is high before decantage, double decanted for 4 hours, much more balanced but not intense aroma which is dominated by black fruits but with hints of floral, medium body, much more balanced palate with rounded tannin and fine acidity after decant, finish is not long enough though, should keep it for 1-2 year longer

December 4, 2009 - ruby red, charming nose with berry fruits and floral scent with hints of violet, full bodied, on the palate tannin is firm, acidity is well-balanced, over structure is more pleasing than the Shiraz sibling, the overall balance drop quickly after two hours with sour and bitterness
