May 8, 2020 - My last bottle. Ginger, cloves, cinnammon, honey, apples on the nose. Similar on palate w tart apples dipped in dark honey w ginger, cloves, and cinnamon. Got sweeter w air but never cloying die to excellent acids. Great balance and complexity. 93+.

July 21, 2019 - From memory. Initially, lots of spice with ginger being prominent, to go with the tart dried apples and meyer lemons dipped in dark honey. With about 10 minutes of air, the spices calms down and becomes more of accent with minerals, herbs, and hints of dark caramel that emerge to bring the wine into balance. Excellent acids and not too sweet. Lovely dessert wine.

December 24, 2018 - PnP. The cork was soaked to the top with some staining on top of cork. But no worries - a beautifully complex wine. Initially mostly about honeyed tart dried apples and apricots and baked meyer lemons. But with a little air, herbs, minerals with edges of dark caramel add to the mix of fruit for a lovely, complex wine. Elegant with the fantastic acids adding life and vivacity. Best showing yet.

March 24, 2018 - Kate and Melissa Birthday Dinner (James and Christie's home): Part of a dinner with company so more impressions here. Honeyed baked tart apples, dried apricots, minerals, and herbs. Nice acids gives the wine life without a hint of being cloying. Nice and drinking so well now.

November 11, 2012 - Excellent bottle, the nose is full with dried stone fruit, caramel. In the mouth the sweetness overpowers a little bit, but nice flavours of brown sugar, petrol and concentrated stone fruits come through.
