November 13, 2021 - See previous note. Still improving, more spice and charcuterie notes. Still some structural firmness, though tannins are fine. Reckon it just needs another 2-3 years to reach its plateau.

April 6, 2019 - Still dark full bodied colour which was a bit of a surprise for a Canberra Shiraz. Thankfully still just medium bodied , with plummy earthy notes , lovely velvety palate with fine tannins and still lovely freshness from the acid. Be surprised if it had any vignogier in it. Very impressive

March 17, 2013 - Well hellooooooo Mr Fancy pants. What a delicious wine in structure, flavours and sight. Deep blood red plum with a slowly evolving nose of spice, red fruits with a hint of bramble and charcuterie. Bloody yum! Full integrated tannins but with plenty of grip, and acid which bodes well for the long term as the fruit is still quite primary. Delicious, long, flavorsome medium bodied Canberran Shiraz. Well done Alex on delivering these grapes to us in such a stunning package.

December 16, 2012 - Red purple colour - just starting to show some indication of age. Wow, this was just a superb wine that gained greater depth and complexity the longer it was opened. It gave me a 'wine moment'!

Sweet red fruit on the noise, almost with a hint of boiled lolly/fruit cake, but in a positive way. Spice. Earth. Flavours are blackberry, cherry, a hint of raspberry, anise, spice, meats and nuts. Layers of flavour. Unique and fantastic - a true wine of Canberra terroir.

May 12, 2012 - Simply one of the best wines I have drunk. Practically purrs with refinement, flavour and sumptuousness. Black cherry, blackberry, melted liquorice, shake of pepper and ground coffee; hints of nuts and roast meat; whisps of open fire. Palate is true to nose; ripe fruit but not at all sweet and never more than medium-bodied, keeps on pushing right through the finish and beyond; tannins build but never intrude; beautiful perfume opens out. Creeps up on you and keeps you coming back from more. More than a nod to Cornas but still distinctly Australian. If this doesn't convert people to Aussie shiraz nothing will.
