Community Tasting Notes 2

March 9, 2018 - Good, albeit a touch disappointing given expectations from this producer. It's definitely on the downslope, with the fruit rather faded and dusty, and framed by mature earthy, olive, smoky, and other tertiary flavours. It perks up a bit with some air, but it doesn't hit the heights that older Vallouit wines often have and feels several years past its prime.

March 9, 2018 - Indianapolis IV; 3/9/2018-3/11/2018 (Indianapolis, IN): Realistically, this is a little long in the tooth. The nose is very clearly syrah, with elements of spice, saline, and olive. The smoke is more on the palate. Initially, this was a bit tinny and had some metallic notes on the back end. Interestingly, air helped dissipate those flavours. There's mostly acidity left but there are wisps of fruit and brine still. Seems a bit thin, but there's still some body here. Drink up.
