September 5, 2021 - Stood up for 1d. Decanted off sediment. Now 3h after decant. Aromas of cranberries, red cherries, blackberries, herbs, olives, mild roasted game meats. Palate w juicy, ripe blackberries and red cherries, ripe cranberries dominate; accompanied by notes of herbs, bark, olives and some roasted game meats that emerge on the midpalate. Mild-moderate tannins on midpalate w high, excellent acids. Med+ body. Nice juicy finish of fruit, herbs, olives, and a bit of roasted meats. High toned, juicy syrah with nice complexity. Still with lots of life left. Expect this to go for another 5 yrs easily and prob 10. Definitely CA but with old school sensibilities. Nicely done. 92+

March 15, 2019 - From memory. Decanted for 3.5h. Bright blackberries, herbs, and minerals. Medium bodied with mild tannins. Excellent acids add liveliness to this joyful wine. I think this might be at peak but no rush to drink up.

January 11, 2015 - Decanted fo 2 hrs. Opaque purple. Aromas of grilled red meats, bright red fruits, savory herbs, olives and a bit of bacon. On palate, black fruits with earth with great acids on the attack. Midpalate shows olives, herbs, grilled meats/beef broth. Flavors however shift back and forth between fruits and savory flavors. Nice long finish of beef broth, herbs and black fruits. Still feels very primary but beginning to show secondary characteristics. I think this has a long life ahead.

November 15, 2014 - Decanted for 5 hrs. Near opaque purple. At that point, intense red/black fruits with a pronounced mineral edge. Nice long finish. Now, 8 hrs of decanting, turns a more savory note and beginning to shut down again. Hints of fresh green herbs, minerals, earth, red/black fruits. Palate with an earthy, minerally, meaty, intense red/black fruit with a finish of fruit, minerals, earth, game meats that linfer on the long finish. Nicely done. Feels early in its evolution 10 yrs out.
