February 27, 2021 - What a pleasant surprise this wine was. I had expected a lot of cooked fruit and sweetness due to the vintage but it was light and airy. Still a modern style of brunello where the oak and dark fruit is present but the profile was light and refreshing. I suspect that I opened this at the exact right time where it has some youthful fruit but where it has lost its compact fruit. Lovely wine.

Leathery texture with a medium finish - I have not had much Brunello so I can't say if this is typical or how it compares to others of this age, etc... Decanted it for an hour and a half... Assertive nose with anise/menthol/tar... Comparatively mellow on the palate with raspberry and cherry notes, a hint of tobacco/cigarbox... Not too much complexity, but quite balanced. Pronounced but not overbearing tannins, medium finish.
