October 16, 2014 - A bit mellow, bland. Perhaps this is near its drinking window end.

September 13, 2012 - Tasting very nice right now and probably for a while into the future. Full flavor with nice fruit, velvet mouth feel and nice tannins to pare with your favorite meal.

July 2, 2012 - This wine was slow to open, wasn't decanted. Poured into glasses after 20 minute wait. On the nose was all chocolate covered cherries. The wine on the palette was consistent with dark, ripe red cherries, blackberry, a little plum. Some oak in the front actually that carried over softly to the mid-palate. This is when the dark chocolate started to creep in. The fruit turned darker - plum, blackberry, even some raisin and cranberry started to step inward, with a black pepper spice that started to crescendo and give way to a very heady finish that dried quite a bit. This wine has evolved in the last four months' time while it has been sitting in the bottle. This wine could have aged for another 5-7 years easy. I can only imagine the complexity of the fruit that will only continue to better integrate. Although a lot of the acidic characteristics on the front have just about completely died, the tannin on the rear is still very much there, starting early, but dominating the finish along with an alcoholic heat and dark fruit. This bottle has sentimental value to me, and I was glad to share it. It was as close to a "pop and pour" as it gets, but it can still remain a pop and pour for a little while longer.

May 14, 2011 - Wonderful nose of cherries, chocolate and spice. Taste of chocolate covered cherries, white pepper and currant. Great structure and nice lingering finish with well integrated tannins.
