December 24, 2023 - Retail $50. 100% Nebbiolo. It has been about three and a half years since I last opened a bottle of this wine and while my waistline has changed, sadly, this wine is still gangbusters. Earthy, menthol, dried cherry, tobacco leaf, mocha, and maybe violet on the nose. In other words, there is plenty going on and it is all good. The palate is bright, tart, and complex; the fruit is subtle, for sure, but that tartness? Whoa. While this is not perhaps the most prestigious Barolo, it is layered, balanced, and even has some noticeable tannins on the finish. Yeah, this is gangbusters and might even have a bit of time left. While I might be slightly less enamored this go around, I am still quite bullish on this wine. Alas, it is my last. Outstanding. 93 Points.

August 29, 2020 - Retail $50. 100% Nebbiolo. For whatever reason, I decided to pull out this wine as well as a 2005 Burgundy fearing, after reading the notes on CT, that one or both might have turned and were well on the downward slope. Well, a funny thing happened on the way to the corkscrew. This, like the Burgundy, was absolutely fabulous. Minty, fruity (still), peppery on the nose after a bit of time open (muted initially). The palate? Whoa. I really don't understand the other comments here on CT--this wine is gangbusters: rich, fruity, great balance, and still muscular tannins. I have one more bottle and I am in absolutely no hurry here. thedrunkencyclist.com

June 16, 2017 - Garnet with minimal bricking at the edges, clean, bright red fruit, some oak and some nice dustiness on nose. Soft mainly resolved tannins, fresh redcurrant and rainier cherry and a hint of floral tones, medium mouth feel and decent length. On the down side, the heat of the vintage is starting to peek through and show a slightly hot and alcoholic tone that would have been better a couple of years back when it was better hidden.

September 27, 2013 - Still acceptable, but marginal cork saturated within 1/4 inch of top. Stored at 55 degrees. Decanted. Medium bodied, somewhat translucent crimson, clear edges. Very firm, grippy, drying tannins with restrained, cedary red fruit. Tannins start to loosen about two hours in. Recommend food and a long decant for the foreseeable future; however it the enclosure will last, this could go at least another ten years and be really good.
