July 10, 2012 - Initially, I was going to just say popped, poured, and puked. However, I let is stand for an hour or two and it was drinkable. Not something at this point to write home about. Might use the rest of the bottle for cooking a pasta sauce and maybe a glass.

July 30, 2011 - I bought 6 bottles from Costco based on the tasting notes and I was sorely dissappointed. I was expecting a medium body, decent cab. This wine was weird and I don't know what all the hoopla in all the other reviews I read were about. The nose is overpowering with pencil lead. Not pleasant. I opened a second bottle to see if it was off, they were both the same.

February 12, 2011 - I will truly miss this 07. I have drank the last of 16 bottles and I still to this date have never had a 10 dollar bottle that I enjoyed as I did with this one. The 08 was a huge disappointment for me because it lacked everything that I loved about the 07. Fortunately the 09 has been released and I have one on the way to try. My fingers are crossed. This was a very earthy wine. It had the nose of wet dirt blended with mushrooms and vanilla buried in an espresso chocolate. The fruit is dark and musky. On the palate cherries and tobacco and a little pepper mix well in a velvet finish. I did get a little bottle variation that sometimes was smoky but nothing major. Again the reason all this excites me is because I paid a mere 10 dollars per bottle. I can only hope the 09 will fair the same.

October 23, 2010 - Always solid, with good Chilean cab characteristics.

(Root:1 Cabernet Sauvignon) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-very obvious and interesting cassis; bright cassis meets a rose petal component; PALATE-very bright fruit; I almost get dried apricots on the mid-palate which is very unusual for a Cab and I like it; good polish; a little cream/vanilla/mocha play on the back-end (it feels like I bit a Starbucks store); a little over-oaked, but not bad; good firm tannins; I like the dark cherry and mocha play; I like the overall fruit and complexity; not bad for $10-$12 bones (Gary's guessing the price); WS-99; GV-87/88
