February 15, 2022 - I haven't tried this wine since 2016 at which time I gave the wine a mediocre rating (84). The wine is still a bit closed with surprisingly prominent tannins but it was improved from my last tasting. However, there is some dark fruit, reasonably well balanced with long finish. Hard to know where this wine will go - if tannins settle down a bit fruit may come forward but may be past prime.

May 24, 2021 - I have never had a good recent pickberry. I had cellared 3 bottles from release. The first one I opened was not giving me much that I liked so I tried the next two on succesive nights. They were all consistently somewhat stewed and austere. Ah well. I am liking the younger Peterson's current efforts

September 6, 2019 - Beautiful and youthful look in the glass. It’s a pretty, elegant subtle wine, with currant and black fruit. The half dozen bottles we picked up for a song have been my favorite bargain of the last few years. Mine are gone. Yours could last for another five years.

June 10, 2018 - The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, cherry, mineral, cedar and cinnamon. It tastes like black currant (cassis). The body is medium/full. The wine has leathery texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. Better than previous bottles

September 24, 2017 - Deep dark red with decent size watery rim. Strawberry and petrol not the nose. Herby and some alcohol, bit pretty lacking in flavor. I obviously though this would have matured better. Decanted because it was very tight after having breathed 15 min or so, opened up but was pretty tasteless and got very alcoholy and tanic at the end. As others have said no fruit. Wish I had tried earlier.
