June 2, 2018 - Out of magnum. Last of a long ago trip. Despite a rough ride, aged well. Minimal ox on the edge. Drank well

October 11, 2014 - I do not pretend to like Merlot. It’s not that I dislike it, but I have not ever really found a place for it. If I am looking for a full-throttle wine for my beef, I grab a Cabernet. If I am looking for a wine with more finesse, I go Pinot. More spice? Syrah. Big and juicy? Zinfandel. Merlot? Um…. This wine might go a long way in helping me find some room in the cellar for Merlot. Despite being 9 years old, still fruity, but also with a ton of depth, from a very good producer. Very Good to Outstanding. thedrunkencyclist.com

June 20, 2014 - I popped this since I really had no idea what to drink and I did not have the patience for something to get cold. I was not impressed: Not much fruit, little to no depth, and a finish that was, um, well, what was I talking about? I gave up and put a cork in the wine, thinking I might cook with it, or use it for sangria--I have never made nor like sangria. The next day, I decided to give it another go. Big difference--what was a barely "Good" wine (82-84 Points) evolved into at least a "Very Good" wine (87-89 Points, at least). Good fruit, good balance, decent depth. thedrunkencyclist.com

February 25, 2013 - I am not a huge Merlot guy. We bought this to share with friends, but we don't really see them that much anymore since an unfortunate incident. I figured 'what the hell' and popped this with leftover meatloaf. The meatloaf was OK and the wine was clearly above 'Meh' so I came out ahead on all fronts. The fruit took a while to come around, but eventually it showed up--some minor balance issues on the backend, but a pleasant quaff all in all.

October 2, 2012 - Decanted for 20 minutes before dinner. Tobacco, dill (came on big with air time), bell pepper (not bad), and cherry on nose. On palate, cherry, black cherry, plum, good acids, sweet tannins & medium length finish (medium body as well). I had low expectations given CT notes but this was drinkable as a good mid-week wine. 89-90 range. At price point ($30) would not buy again but this was enjoyable with dinner. 89+
