March 13, 2012 - Bricked. Nose mostly gone but the wine still elegant and balanced silk. Should have finished it up a couple years ago but still enjoyable.

February 26, 2009 - Some pleasant tart cherry on nose but a quick sips(and a few more sips after that) reveal that there simply isn't enough fruit to balance the acidity. This one probably should have been drunk 5 years ago.

May 18, 2008 - Sight: Red with some tinges of orange on the rim
Nose: Fruit and spice....classic cherry nose.... purple florals...some perfume notes and more spice coming forth
Taste: Spice, fruit, good acid balance, medium light body
Overall - very nice! Would like to have more. 89+ points

May 18, 2008 - ERI Pre Auction tasting (union league club, chicago IL): nose: nice and soft with cherries, purple florals, spice, mushrooms, and some perfumes that are hard to pin point

taste: soft and silky with that great volnay feel of spice and cherry tones comlimented with some earth and mushrooms

overall: a very pretty wine. Very soft and silky from the attack all the way through the finish

January 9, 2007 - Good color with a bit of bricking at the edge. The aroma eventually opened up in the glass (served by Le Cirque in a bordeaux glass for some reason) to reveal pure red fruit scents (cherries?) with no real earthiness. Middle weight red fruit flavors more muted than the aromas, no tannins and less minerality and acidity than expected - a nice drink, but not likely to improve.
