    January 10, 2017 - Wine had been well-stored and was in good shape with deep nose (floral with some solvents still) and gorgeous brick-edged color, but sadly past its day. After a half-hour of air the sherried qualities were still there, a superb old burgundy to which a large shot of premium sherry had been added. No vinegar notes, medium in toast, and a pleasure to swirl and nose, but I could drink only half my glass if that, and reserved the rest for saucework and deglazing.
