January 22, 2015 - Absolutely brilliant. I'm so pleased I let this age, as the secondary developments have given it remarkable complexity and depth. I was sad to finish the bottle, and am thrilled to have one left.

September 17, 2014 - Chicago: wine, food, friends...cigars!; 9/17/2014-9/20/2014 (Blackbird, Les Nomades, Naha, with lunch at Shaw's Crab House): A fascinating contrast to the 2006 Peter Michael Point Rouge and the 2011 Littorai Theriot served next to it. Medium-bodied, but the cut was significant, effortlessly hoisting and clearly delineating layer upon layer of fruit; tricks (my) the mind, at times that I found myself looking at the bottle, expecting to see it was some type of blend with Sauvignon Blanc or something. And while this debut vintage may have been much more powerful and weighty at release, it was in a perfect place on the night, and, IIRC, the first bottle that was emptied. Excellent with food, or on its own. Artful, which is to say, not overworked, clumsy or hot. Thru 2020, recommended

    Slow-O 1 hour, served non-blind.

March 11, 2014 - Gorgeous wine, very burgundian. Great acidity for CA chard.

November 2, 2012 - Light golden color, moderate viscosity, opulent & voluptuous. Iconic example of a big Cali Chardonnay. Absolutely stunning. Served to friends visiting from France. They thought it the best wine they ever tasted! This wine maker should be on every serious wine drinker's radar.

March 11, 2012 - Pale gold. Nose what amazingly shy, even with airing and warming I got only a little-more on the vanilla/winter spice side. But I said amazingly as the mouth was da bomb. I can't recall the last wine that I had where the nose and taste were so different. Mouthfeel was smoooth, vanilla, lemon curd, spring flowers, YUM! (Nose 82; Taste 99, so a 91)

(Morlet Family Vineyards Chardonnay Coup de Coeur) Cloudy, light lemon yellow color; pineapple, apple nose; tight, apple, pineapple, marshmallow palate with good acidity; medium-plus finish (seems to have gone a bit "dumb" since I had it a couple years back)

(Morlet Family Vineyards Chardonnay Coup de Coeur) Light medium canary yellow color; bright lemon, lemon gelee and vanilla oak nose; lemon gelee, lemon chiffon, clementine and marshmallow palate; medium-plus finish
