April 17, 2024 - A magnum donated from the Müller cellars. This is the first vintage from which Müller released some magnums and man was this good. It has notes of custard apple, citrus blossom, smoky mineral, slate and lime brulee. It is so deep and unctuous, with almost painful intensity. It drives through the palate and powers on and on.

I guessed EM 2005 Spätlese, so perefctly balanced. Not too sweet, cracking but elegant acidity. Starting to reach his peak. Drinkable over the next 20-30 years. 97+

November 10, 2017 - 2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan): Incredibly focused singular nose, subtle white fruit, white and yellow peach, white flowers, honey, and petrol. Fully integrated harmonious palate, cool and energetic, medium sweetness, good acidity and mineral presence and a long clean finish. Very precise mineral driven wine.

October 8, 2017 - The German Crush Tour; 10/8/2017-10/16/2017: This is a nearly perfect aged Riesling. A lighter auslese (likely a spatlese in modern terms) with layers of fruit over the elegant, mineral mid. hints of apricot and peach over the savory herbs and gooseberry notes. still quite young tasting and not going anywhere fast (we drank it over 3 days with virtually no change). perfection - a benchmark wine for me.
