August 29, 2022 - Absolutely phenomenal. Power and elegance combined. Great complexity... This wine should last many more years but it is in a really great place right now. Tons of dark red fruits on the nose, coffee and animale. Savory herbs and spices make the nose very memorable but it is the deeply pitched and subtly dry fruit that still stands out at 33 years old.

Really stunning how good this is and not exactly a producer that I have on my radar normally. Really showing what a well made Cote Rotie can do with some age. Nice to see it from a Cote Rotie that costs under $100 too. BRAVO!

March 30, 2021 - Very good. Totally mature, highly elegant (i.e. more akin to a fine, aged burgundy than a robust Côte-Rôtie), with lovely spice, soil, soft red/dark red berries and lingering forest notes. My favorite wine on the night, and we all agreed this was completely on point. While this will live on, it's in a such a great place now, I don't see any advantage to further ageing. highly recommended

November 28, 2017 - Cote Rotie (Harwood Arms, London): Cries of Brett all around, but I think I’m immune. Certainly characterful, but nicely so. A little cloudy. Vin de terroir! Unconventional but interesting. Fun too. ****

July 26, 2014 - Opened 40 hours ago, but drinking no worse for it! Smells lovely, soft, smooth, and elegant. Some mineral inflected soft spicy, earthy notes popping up, with some slightly poopy fruit. Smells fantastic, with tons of depth. Had my nose in the glass for quite sometime before diving in. The palate is lovely, with notes of downed autumn leafs. Soft, elegant, smooth and tart. Lovely texture. Rich eruption of acidity on the finish, with fantastic balance of the rich acid and tart red fruits. Really lovely evolution on the finish. A real winner.

November 8, 2013 - Drinking fantastic right now. Was really impressed with this wine, age has been very kind to it. Sweet cherry licorice on the nose, and very smooth and mellow texture. Tastes of plum, leather, black cherry. This has held up nicely, and in a great spot to drink right now. Overall just very smooth and silky all around.
