June 10, 2013 - This took a little while to get going and certainly showed better once paired with food. Muted nose that eventually showed hints of fruit. On the palate some richness and depth, but it never really reached the apogee that many Siduri/Novy wines reach. Perhaps this is why it was on sale at the winery…. thedrunkencyclist.com

June 22, 2012 - Retail ~$33. I paid $23 at the winery. We are big fans of Siduri/Novy and have been to the winery numerous times. They always seem to have some great deals going on and their wines never disappoint. This Parsons was no exception, despite following the big bruiser Ridge. Tons of dark fruit on the nose: blackberry, blueberry, and even a little mint. On the palate, a nicely refined wine with nice fruit upfront, great balance, and some tannin on the finish. A great pairing with the flame treated bovine flesh. Excellent. 92 points.

May 15, 2011 - At this stage I'm finding quite a bit of burnt rubber and pepper in the aromas with an almost sharp and tangy finish to the wine. I'm not a fan of the 2006 syrah's that I have tasted recently, and many presented with much better fruit a few years ago. Score range (85-88).

December 22, 2010 - Interesting nose of exotic wood, menthol. Decidedly not fruity on the palate. Nice, full body. Well integrated tannins. Surprised how much I enjoyed this one.

October 18, 2010 - A little mint or menthol lift to the nose, along with blackberry, plum, blueberry - all ripe but not jammy. Big boned and not flabby, there's nice acidity here along with a dollop of unresolved tannin, also a little leather and espresso. Maybe a touch of alcoholic heat on the finish, but this is tamed with both time in the decanter and food. Lovely, with life to go yet.
