November 14, 2023 - Quite a bit of nutty aldehyde along with plenty of volatile acidity on the nose. The palate is good and keeps getting better with air. There's a core of intense creamy cherry fruit. It has some leather, game and truffle development. It is rich and heady and layered. There's still structural chew and length is fabulous. It has a pleasant salty/iodine note that lingers.

May 16, 2014 - Getting past the somewhat fatigued nose showed a wine of great power and broad rich fruit, but starting to show some age, a bit gamey. Sweet and succulent rich fruit that my neighbor found a bit reminiscent of port given the incredible ripeness. Allen calls this robust, and I think that is apt. (per se)

May 3, 2012 - Disappointingly thin wine... past experience suggests that this was bad storage. That said, it had some redeeming characteristics, elegance and some charm.

February 23, 2012 - Light red color, blood red, no browning. High acid and a long finish that expands with wood and tobacco flavors.

October 6, 2010 - Pretty strong nose of herbal notes, Licorice, mushrooms, tea, and slightly menthol. After half an hour in glass it opened up to show good attack, and pretty good persistence in the mouth. Perhaps passed prime by 5yrs+ but still one of the best fully aged Vogue bonnes mares that I have had.
