August 14, 2021 - Youthful deep ruby red colour.
Intense dark berries, crushed herbal spice, tar and licorice spice, roasted meats, the fruit still dominates but the complexity is very apparent. Plenty of very fine tannins and well balanced acidity. Has a decade or more ahead of it. Delicious.

April 26, 2018 - deep deep color, bricking rim. aromatically earth earth and more earth... leather, prune, dark fruits, animal aromas... any oak smells have been absorbed by this wine. on the palate moderate acids, full mid palate, firm, rustic tannins. balanced wine with very good length, great intensity, good complexity... so, so true to place and varietal. clearly an "excellent" wine wine drinking at or near its peak depending on storage and luck... my guess is that this wine will never integrate and have a ton of harmony to its many components as the taster below astutely picked up on... mouvedre just doesn't do that like cab and other varietals... this will always be, IMO, a rough and wild wine.

May 30, 2017 - Dinner at The Bristol (Chicago, IL): This was an outstanding bottle of Bandol. We quipped that it was kind funny that the Bandol was the cleanest wine on the table tonight (maybe with the exception of the Cavallotto). The nose is all black fruit and spice, and the palate more of the same, with a beautiful silky texture to boot. There's acidity here that gives this elegance as well. Perhaps a little odd that this showed so well tonight, but no one at the table was complaining about that.

May 24, 2017 - Mörkröd färg och oerhört tätt

    Körsbärskärnor, sötlakrits, körsbär, väldigt cabbigt

Tydlig syra, torrt, strävt, bra längd och tämligen riviga tanniner

    Ett väldigt spännande vin.

June 14, 2011 - Another outstanding showing for this wine. Decanted and poured, this wine remains youthful with some more mature notes lurking in the background. This may benefit from additional bottle age and will most likely drink at its peak about ten years from the vintage.
