  May 4, 2018 - This was a "single soldier" so I can't speak for the wine generally, but this was a lovely bottle of wine. Full flavoured, particularly black currant flavour, and very smooth. Showed no signs of being past its best.

Palate is a heavier than I remember dominated by rich fruit of plum and blackberry. Has really soften out with the tannins fading into the background making it a very smooth, easy drinking wine. Based on this bottle, this wine has plenty of life in it so no need to rush drinking this vintage. Might give it a couple of years before I try another one but should see 2020 with ease.

  This wine has a distinct nutty nose. Purplish brown in colour with good balance. On the palate it is somewhat concentrated. Slightly spicy as well.

  January 12, 2012 - Hazy notes from two days ago. Decanted about an hour, then shared with a friend. Lots of blackfruits on the nose, and a hint of mint as well. Lovely aged characteristics, the exhuberant fruit has settled down, and it ends with a slight sweet fruit note, but this doesn't detract from the wine at all. Smooth and veltvety on the medium-full bodied palate, but there's still nice structure there. No greeness at all. Drinking at peak now, I think, but should still remain on the plateau for a couple years yet. Lovely wine (A-).
