October 26, 2023 - Truly weird: smelt like celery in a bloody mary....!! Delicious, tertiary tastes. Fascinating experience. Absolutely no sense of place. Could be anywhere - the effect of age.

November 4, 2016 - This bottle was purchased from an American retailer who also deals in auctions, I do not know the source. After receiving the bottle, which looked perfect, it rested in my cellar for approximately 1 year. The wine was still dark with zero evidence of bricking along the edges. The fruit was still apparent but not overbearing on both the nose and palate. The best way I could describe this wine would be drinking a BBQ...and I mean that in the best possible way. We decanted for 30min then enjoyed, it was truly wonderful.

December 20, 2015 - Served non-blind at my xmas party. I can't believe this is a 30 year old domestic wine. It tasted maybe half that age. It still had some light cherry fruit, maybe some blackberry, and even old school bordeaux notes of leather and earth. But the alcohol and tannins were non-existent. Everyone said one word - smooth. Very impressive and this will last for at least five more if stored properly from day one.

October 31, 2015 - Deep, dark reddish-garnet in color with slight amber at the edges. Forward, fragrant & attractive nose of developed & mature, ripe dark fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & cassis with cedar & floral overtones, spices, dark cocoa notes, mint, dried herbs, a bit of earthiness, dusty, hints of oak & vanilla. Medium-full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced, smooth textured & elegant, seamless & well-integrated, mature, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums, dark cocoa, herbs, spices, earthy, hints of oak & vanilla. Long lingering & smooth finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the structure & fruit to last a few more years longer although any further development will be minimal. Truly an iron fist in a velvet glove.
