Community Tasting Notes 7

April 16, 2015 - Ripe apricot fruit layered on densely mineral dominated backbone. Lip smacking good, with just enough sweetness on the finish to pair well with some spicy grilled sausage.

March 22, 2014 - Minerality and yellow fruit. Good acidity and bitterness. Very lovely. Give some air to let it express itself.

May 16, 2011 - Showcases an intense, vivid minerality - as if this came from steel and rocks rather than grapes - but with some air some bright white fruited flavours develop. Rich though light on its feet with bright acids, but showing a touch of finishing heat that surprises me. Very nice, though doesn't have the sheer precision and impeccable balance of Alzinger's Steinertal.

February 23, 2011 - Popped and poured, very complex nose of damp moss, flowers, with grove fruit in the background. The palate is gorgeous with ripe citrus/orchard fruit, nuts, minerals. These flavors persist to a substantial midpalate with saline notes all lifted up by great, but not overbearing acidity. I have no idea how much residual sugar is in this wine, not much but just enough to make all the notes harmonious. The Alzinger hype is justified in my opinion.

February 11, 2009 - Lots of white peach. Juicy. Balanced. Very nice.
