February 20, 2024 - Gifted a bottle of this- which drank spectacularly, great concentration, black Cherry, currant, cassis, spice, truffle , cigar, sous bois truly went on and on and on with a lovely long finish and a nice fresh hit of eucalyptus.

Tannins we’re melting and the acid was so fresh. This is in a beautiful spot with no real need to drink quickly.

November 9, 2023 - Excellent mature fruit that is still plenty fresh while showing lots of layers -- tobacco, wet cedar, mulch, and earthy mushroom. Gorgeous wine in a late peak.

December 17, 2022 - From a well-stored bottle with upper shoulder fill. Fully mature, this poured a clear orange-brick colour. Ready to go after a 30-minute decant. Pungent nose of cassis, cedar, tobacco, earth, and some gravelly notes. Beautiful textural impression on the palate with a medium sweet, cedar-infused finish. Qualitatively not on par with the '61 but not a mile behind either and a fabulous bottle in its own right.

November 12, 2022 - It amazes me how glacially this wine ages, and how consistent it is. There was a little funk on the nose initially, but that mostly blew off. Dark tones fruit, a just a hint of earthiness. Soft, with no tannin, but solid acidity. Elegant. I wouldn’t say this is extremely complex, but I enjoyed this wine, and it was probably my second favorite wine of the night.

August 21, 2022 - Dark bricking, faded brown with dark core, cloudy with pale rim; high shoulder fill; lovely foresty pot-pouri notes, dry forest, old leather armchair, remnants of cigar box, a little black cherry skin, black currant fruit; lovely and perfumed, nice aged tertiary notes with no oxidative notes other than natural aging; Silky mouthfeel, tannins pretty much resolved, silky and seductive, balance, seamless, with a hint of sour cherry and clay in the finish. Really nice but probably 10 years past it's peak but still holding nicely. Bistro Na's, San Gabriel Valley w/S&L. Insanely good with the not so intuitive honey and black pepper diced Angus Beef.
