Community Tasting Notes 3

May 14, 2011 - I like the mealy aspect to the aroma. With a little more air that's overtaken by vanilla, which comes to predominate. Not a lot of fruit at this age; what there is being pale peaches. Waxy, broad and weighty; with quite significant acidity tugging through at the end. That's sour and stony (rather than small or grainy minerals). Arguably closed now, it probably does have enough acidity to protect it and allow an evolution to potentially quite serious aromatic complexity. 89 now.

July 31, 2009 - really fresh and great nose. one could swim in it for hours. lovely citrus notes and great acidity. long finish. the wine is drinking wonderfully and is unlikely to improve any more from here, but it has years ahead.

July 9, 2009 - Chassagne Vs. Puligny (2005s) (Hi-Time Wine Cellars - Costa Mesa, CA): Platinum gold in the glass with wonderfully understated yet seductive aromas of fresh cut melon, botanicals, mint, and grains. The palate offers loads of fresh citrus and mineral essence flavor along with a persistent finish of spices and crushed stones. This wine is powerful at first impression but also becomes very elegant in the mouth because of the tremendous balance of fruit density, acidity, and minerality.
