April 6, 2021 - 2002 and 2006 Corton Grancey (Yan's China Bistro, Walnut Creek, Ca.): Nose of sweet and sour fruit, red cherry, hint of black cherry, floral nose, and smoke, same on the palate, medium/big body, very tasty, mouth filling fruit, elegant, went well with the Duck today, and a long finish. October 13, 2020 - Unremarkable, which is a shame with this terroir. Good concentration and some earthy red fruits. But not much else to take note of.

October 13, 2020 - Both Shades of Corton (My home - Chicago IL): Enjoyable enough, but seemingly older and lacking Grand Cru density.

January 30, 2020 - Nose of sweet and sour fruit, lovely, floral nose from the start, lacks the color and power of the 1999 Grancey today, red cherry, black cherry, and earth on the nose, same on the palate, medium/big body, tasty, opened nicely today, has it all but not enough grip, mouth filling fruit, and a long finish.

August 12, 2018 - Really nice fruit of strawberry and cherry. some leather, wet tobacco and under growth. soft tannins, decent acidity. married well with grilled pork tenderloin chops in a sweet/savory marinade. glad i have 1 bottle left.

August 12, 2018 - Medium ruby with some bricking, stewed black plums, mulberry, Asian spice and hints of baking soda on the nose, rich seasoned fruit on the attack followed by mixed red and black fruit, plenty of juicy acidity and mellow tannins, finish is earthy and long with dried fig, raspberry, mushroom, subtle spice and much more

Note: Starting to fade a little in the finish, maybe time to drink up

August 27, 2017 - Ruby to brick hue, day 1 sweet floral tone on nose; day 2 floral nose fades with south asia spices on nose; day 3 floral nose complete faded out, leather nose instead.

August 5, 2016 - Consistent with prior tastings but showing a bit more accelerated. Smoke, sous bois, fungus, peat moss, mature muddled red berries and fall leaves. Past it's peak but far from over the hill.

August 1, 2016 - A less impressive showing this time around, though still an excellent an exceptionally classy offering. Perhaps a testament to the axiom, no great wines, only great bottles.

April 7, 2016 - Similar to previous bottle, maybe slightly more tired but showed well.
