December 16, 2023 - No detailed notes taken. Company’s Christmas dinner. This was the standout among the red wines. Dark red and black fruit notes with earthy notes complexity. Palate is focused with intense fruit flavours and corresponding acidity. Long. Just beginning to approach drinking window. I would give it another 10 year or more to reach its peak.

January 13, 2023 - Gorgeous Rioja and a top wine from Muga, vines being planted since 1926. Its a Tempranillo blend with hefty 30% Graciano, aged for 18 months in new FR oak. Deep opaque garnet red. Intense complex aroma of smoked cold cuts, leather, rubber, tar, earth, dried black cherries and plums, incense. Full body, complex, concentrated and deep layered flavours of dried fruit, chocolate, spiced and smoked meat. It concludes long, smoky and persistent with fine grained well structured tannins.

May 14, 2022 - In a good spot with more structure and intensity than the other Spanish wines tonight, including 2003 Flor de Pingus and 2001 Elios Mora. Gritty and even coarse due to firm tannins with darker fruit than the others. If you like this style you will rate it considerably higher.

August 22, 2021 - Big, rich, bold fruit driven wine with a medium to long finish. It is drinking very well now. Parker said its drink window is until 2045. I think that is way too generous. Perhaps 2030 or sooner?

July 24, 2021 - I can relate to the previous TNs: big, bold wine, long finish but somehow lacking a sense of place.
That said, drinking very well now and can easily be enjoyed over the next 10-15 years.
