December 8, 2020 - Nose of carbon paper, white pepper, cocoa and leather upholstery from a 1960s car.
Mouth of semi-dried tomatoes, potpourri and raspberry pop-rocks (after they've all popped). Fairly austere but still interesting. Faint remnants of fruit, like when you've already sucked out the meaty part of plum and your just dealing with the skin.
90 second finish of cranberries and the wooden picnic tables at the rest stops that are surrounded by forest. Decent amount of sediment at the bottom. -

February 4, 2017 - Decanted around 5pm and finished about 24 hours later. The color is dense dark garnet, opaque right up to the edge. Nice nose of licorice and dark berries and black fruit. Very well balanced with a soft controlled but dense texture. Great flavor layers like the nose with plenty of dark fruit, blackberry, menthol, licorice spices and chocolate on the finish. Delicious and so elegant for an Aussie Shiraz.

September 21, 2014 - Plentiful vanilla oak on the nose, tending to chocolate, over ripe black fruit (cherry and plum) with leather, cream, a slight reductive note (that blows off). Meatiness here as well. In the mouth the wine is little flabby but has plentiful ripe fruit, hints of vanilla and chocolate, tiny spice hints and quite fine and silky tannin. There is plenty of alcohol heat as well which lends warmth and a certain mouth watering juiciness to the palate on the long finish. My recollections are shady but I don't think this is as far forward as the last bottle I had. Rather nice.

August 9, 2014 - Medium plus intensity aromas of leather, peppery spice, mushroom, iron/blood over muted black cherry, cream and vanilla. On the palate the cherry notes are more to the fore along with the peppery spice, a certain piquancy and tongue coating tannin. On it's last legs but pleasant.

April 25, 2009 - My last bottle. It was absolutely delicious! Real depth without being heavy handed.
