Community Tasting Notes 9

March 18, 2016 - Last bottle from a batch bought close to release. Splash decanted and drank over 2+ hours

Starting to show signs of age...nice purple color, some separation at the rim. Nose is black cherry, herbs. Palate was dried red fruits, dusted cherry, blackberry, coconut, oak. Medium finish

Elegant and well aged wine, probably past its peak now but still drink very nicely. Would drink this over next 2 years...

June 14, 2014 - I decanted this for just over 2 hours and it was exactly what I thought it would be. Good fruit, tannins and acidity. But I was hoping it would knock my socks off, which it didn't.

March 8, 2014 - At home, casual dinner with Valerie and Eileen. Served with salmon and my Italian potatoes. Decanted for about an hour.

Consistent with prior notes. Mid palate sweetness makes this distinctive. Tannins fully resolved. In a great spot right now, drink over next few years

January 25, 2014 - Forgot about this, has been in the cellar since purchase around 04. Sbragia wines have been reliable, in my experience. Paired with plank grilled salmon, pork tenderloin and baked potatoes...

Deep purple/red color to the rim, no real signs of aging. Rich nose on the decant, was ready in about 30 minutes. Black cherry, blackberry, spices, a sweetness mid palate, vanilla oak. Tannins resolved, smooth mouthfeel. Medium/long finish.

In a good place right now, will keep but not improve. Drink over next 5 years

July 25, 2013 - Decent but not very interesting wine. Medium nose, body, flavor, structure. Like the blind date with the nice personality. No spark, no chemistry. Completely dead by the second day.
