March 28, 2020 - Cool cool minty cool. This is fabulous. Super clean cork. That dark, cool SC Mountains profile. Incredibly silky across the palate. Barely hinting at tertiary characters. Hint 'o mint. Really takes you places. Fantastic. Even better on a deck overlooking the afternoon ocean with a good friend while the world is all closed up.

June 2, 2019 - Very dark red/purple color, youthful color. PNP, drank a small glass over an hour in a flight with a ’90 Silverado Limited and a ’90 Montelena Estate. Vegetal nose, dark fruits, black cherry; on the palate there’s a grainy texture, vegetal, black cherry, heat, the fruit seems a bit stewy. The front end seems ok, but the there’s somewhat of a hole in the mid and back end as the tannins are grippy and grainy and the heat shows through too. I suspect some heat influence somewhere along the line.

May 19, 2019 - Youthful deep ruby color for its age Cork looked near perfect with less than 1/2" even soak. No heat streaks. I liked this wine. Picked up some cigar box on the nose. My buddy felt there was some heat damage. The fact he mentioned made me think, well maybe. Power of suggestion? All in all I felt it was pretty clean and healthy. Classic flavors you'd find in either pre 1996 CA Cabs or BDX. Earth shakingly good, no but a tasty CA cab from days gone by. Worth the $80 I spent on it and fun to try a more under the radar Santa Cruz Mt producer.

March 24, 2017 - Poured alongside the 94, and clearly superior. Lots of black fruit and gravel; unlike the 94, this has a real midpalate that shows lots of earthy, gravelly tannins with enough fruit still remaining to give that gravelly edge richness. Held up nicely in the fridge for two days. No reason to wait any longer on this.

January 30, 2010 - Deep red in color. No bricking whatsoever. Aromas were plush and deep the moment the bottle was opened. Dark berry, spice and plum with a secondary of eucalyptus. Beautiful, full and silky mouth feel with the plum, spice and dark berry. Very alive throughout. Long, balanced finish. The finest bottle showing I've had yet with this wine, and now my last. It was a truly a pleasure to drink the past couple of years.
